Smarter Faster Better by Charles Duhigg

I recently finished reading “Smarter Faster Better” by Charles Duhigg. Duhigg is also the author of “The Power of Habit” which I reviewed HERE. “Power of Habit” rocked my world in my awareness of how habits run our lives. Even though it was not on my 2016 reading list, as soon as I saw the cover for “Smarter Faster Better“, I was intrigued. To top it off, Charles Duhigg was the special guest on The James Altucher Show podcast recently, which… Read more »

Elise Gets Crafty Podcast Episode 100

The best thing I heard this week was Episode 100 of the Elise Gets Crafty podcast, “On Time”. Elise Gets Crafty is a podcast for creative small businesses hosted by Elise Joy. Elise is a thoughtful and deliberate host who has a knack for being relatable. She also is the creator of the “Get to Work Book”, a planner I have my eye on getting very soon. She did not feature a guest on this episode, as it was her… Read more »

The Unmistakeable Creative Podcast

The best thing I heard this week was guest Sally Hogshead on The Unmistakable Creative podcast. I’m subscribed to the Unmistakable Creative, where the host Srini Rao interviews thought leaders from all walks of life. Although I had not heard of Sally before this episode, her background is right up my alley. She started her career in advertising, and did some pretty amazing client work as a copywriter and creative director. She is an accomplished brand strategist, researcher and author. Her specialty is helping… Read more »

I listen to anywhere from 8-15 hours of podcasts per week. Driving, washing dishes, folding laundry, showering, exercising, cooking, painting, any activity where my mind can focus while my hands do something else is a good time to listen. The topics of my favorite podcasts cover an… Read more »

My 2016 Reading List

A new year has me looking forward to new reads, so I recently decided to compile my 2016 reading list to share with you. For me, part of the fun of reading and learning is the anticipation and excitement of getting a new book in my hands.  I get most of my book ideas from listening to podcasts, whether the guests be the authors of the books, or titles that a guest may have mentioned. Usually, if I hear about a book from… Read more »
